Since
1971, Delco Wire & Cable Corporation has established itself
to become a nationally recognized leader in the manufacture and
marketing of wire and cable in the Philippines. Delco meets the
ever growing demands of the different industries engaged in Building
Construction, Industrial and Electrical, Power Utility, Appliance
Manufacturing, Telecommunications and other specialty markets domestically
and abroad.
Delco's
broad range of products, which carry the popular brand name Delton,
include Building Wires, Aluminum Conductors, Power Transmission
Lines, Appliance Cords, Galvanized Steel Strand, Stainless Lashing
Wires, Telecom Wires, Flexible Power Cords, and other types made
to customer specifications.
The
family-run business was founded on March 4, 1971 by the Chairman,
Soriano Go Kian Hua, a Mechanical Engineering graduate of the
Mapua Institute of Technology in the Philippines. It began with
the manufacturing and marketing of low-voltage building wire and
cable.
In
1991, the company had a major management revamp due to improve
the performance of the company. With the new management at helm,
Delco attained a record increase of 27%
in sales on the very first year it took over. Sales continued
to increase steadily and in just four years reached an unprecedented
82.4% growth.
In 1990, Delco broke into the Securities and Exchange Commission's
(SEC) listing of the Top 2000 Corporations in the Philippines
and has consistently been listed ever since. In 1999,
the company has been certified by Certification International
Philippines, Inc. (CIP) to be an International Standard Organization
(ISO) 9002:
1994/QMS 1002; 1994 certified company.
Delco
operates from a company-owned 2.9 hectare facility located in
the outskirt of Metro Manila in nearby Rizal province and distributes
its products through an extensive network of dealers nationwide.
Delco's manufacturing operation is focused on being able to meet
customer needs and to assure affordable products. To ensure consistency
in product quality and manufacturing excellence, Delco keeps itself
abreast with t he technological advances in the industry by continually
upgrading its production facilities. The company invests on European
and Japanese machinery for the manufacture of wires and cables
that strictly conform to a wide range of domestic and internation
al standards, including Philippine National Standards, Philippine
Electrical Code, JIS, ASTM, UL, IPCEA, NEMA, BS, and IEC.
Today,
Delco's total annual production output is approximately 3,600
metric tons (MT) which is already a 50 percent increase since
1990's production.
Delco's
success is a result of its established ability to exceed customer
expectations, its unending quest for cost-effective manufacturing
and continuous quality improvement in products and processes.
